Or: a brief introduction into how, but not necessarily why, this all came about.
I've briefly covered the hows, whys, wherefores and younevers of Seadragon Silver coming into being in the 'About' section of the website, but it's hard to talk about yourself without getting a serious case of either (a) false modesty, (b) imposter syndrome, or (c) starting to think you actually *are* a legend in your own lunchtime.
I also get bored reading really long stuff, which is ironic considering my working life started in journalism and my profession was all about words. But, perhaps that's precisely why I have so little patience with bumph and puffery (although I am always in favour of celebrating triumph with a wee bit of tomfoolery).
It's all about the optics
Which is really just my way of saying that these days, I vastly prefer looking at pictures. If it's a good visual, I'll read the story. Between them, the internet, social media and clickbaiting have pretty much destroyed the art of writing a good headline, so I rely instead on a powerful image to draw me in. That is also probably why I sweat as much as I do taking photographs for my website; and in general. Thank god for digital photography and top-notch phone cameras.
Hence this blog.
I promise to do my best not to bore you to death; and to not get too up myself. Now that Elon Musk has taken Twitter, I will be bowing out from that platform — which means you'll also bear the brunt of my late-night, esoteric musings (poetry! well emo music! Harry Styles!) here.
